Home grey (born frame overo bay pearl)

grey (born frame overo bay pearl)

gris (né frame overo bai perle)

Description

Dilution of the bay coat by the Pearl gene, giving a light golden body with attenuated points. The effect is more subtle than on a chestnut base, producing a delicate, luminous coat.

Visual traits

Light golden body · Slightly attenuated points · Soft, luminous shade

Genetic basis

Extension E/-, Agouti A/-, Pearl nPrl — Pearl subtly dilutes the bay base.

The Frame Overo pattern adds irregular white patches to the base coat. Crossing two Frame horses is dangerous: 25% of foals will be homozygous O/O (OLWS) and will not survive.
